Lightspeed Srl has obtained a subsidized interest-free financing of the maximum amount of € 691,752.00 (of which € 173,778.00 not subject to reimbursement) on financial resources PON Enterprises and Competitiveness 2014-2020 FESR (PON IC) – PRIORITY III axis 3 – ACTION 3.5.1 for the implementation of a plan for the development of electronic systems for sports facilities based on technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI)machine learning, augmented reality and iot with the aim of increasing the safety and well-being of athletes and staff during training at sports facilities (motocross tracks, ski slopes, car circuits, snowparks, ski lifts, etc.) and areas of relevance and reduce their environmental impact.
The products provide innovation in the processes of plant and infrastructure management, since it automatically performs monitoring activities through artificial intelligence, control and intervention carried out visually and manually by human operators characterized by high costs, difficult to find and exposure to the risk of distraction/ fatigue.
The new technologies developed have multiple objectives:
- reduce the total cost of ownership of facilities and infrastructure;
- expand the target audience thanks to the ability to improve the safety, performance and well-being of athletes and support staff
- introducing value-added services such as automatic control of the entrance to the plant and surrounding areas, automated processing of augmented reality multimedia content to facilitate video surveillance, assist athletes training and for entertainment.
The proposed technologies can finally be applied not only to the system as such but also to the relevant environments (e.g. lifts, areas open to the public) for the purpose of controlled and optimized management of the flows of people. The systems include the real-time monitoring of the number of people and the signalling through app, ledwall or light signals, in order to favor the uniform distribution in the system and between the various ancillary services such as refreshment, assistance, etc.
The business objectives achieved are consistent with the socio-environmental needs:
- facilitate the practice of sport
- reduce the risk and severity of accidents during sports practice
- respect the resident population near the facilities and reduce the environmental impact of sports
- reduce the cost of running sports facilities and transport.
